Nathan Delfouneso was a product of the Villa youth academy, and by the end of the 07/08 season had made 41 appearances scoring 22 goals. An impressive 0.54 goals per game.

The young striker made his first team debut for the club as a substitute against FH HafnarfjörÕur in the UEFA Cup at just 17 years and 195 days old. His first senior goal for the club came in his first start. An impressive left-foot volley after just half an hour of his full debut against MŠK Žilina. He also scored on his second start for the club, a concolation goal in Germany against Hamburg.

Nathan’s first senior domestic goal came in the FA Cup tie at Villa Park against Doncaster Rovers in 2009. Villa won the game 3-1m with then manager, Martin O’Neill especially praising Nathan’s contribution.

Nathan then started the FA Cup tie against Blackburn Rovers in January 2010. He scored his 4th senior goal for the club in 3-1 victory. He then scored in the next round against Brighton and Hove Albion. He was a unused substitute in the League Cup final that year, which Villa lost 2-1 to Manchester United.

The youngsters first league goal came in a 2-1 victory at Fratton Park against Portsmouth.

The following season he scored goals against Blackpool and Blackburn Rovers, before going out on loan to Burnley. He only managed 1 goal in 11 appearances for the clarets.

For Villa, he has made 41 appearances scoring 8 goals in total.
