A change is going to come
Article By Karl Young1 Comment »May 4, 2011
A change is gonna come as Otis Redding sang, this is looks to be the tone for summer activity at Aston villa FC. General Krulak spoke of the disappointment at how the seasons panned out, claiming no one is happy at Villa park.
This season has been an emotional rollercoaster for every fan, leaving everyone with an upset stomach rather than an adrenaline rush. Although despite this, in a way I am glad it’s been so bad, because we have found out the things that need to be improved or changed to ensure next season is alot better.
Judging from the General words on Vital Villa, the summer is the time these improvements are going to be made, nobody specifcally knows what the General is referring too, but I cannot wait to find out.
Gary McAllister said recently, that if the club gets the players they want than exciting times lie ahead for Aston villa. One of these exciting targets may have been Nurin Sahin, who I was disappointed to discover will be heading to Real Madrid for a bargain bucket eight million. However the fact that we are tracking the same players as Real Madrid shows the clubs ambition for next season and possibly how much Gerard Houlliers profile has increased transfer expectations.
Regarding Gerard Houlliers position I would be sad to see him leave as the team is finally adjusting to his coaching methods and foot balling philosophy. It’s too early to predict whether he is going to resume as manager in two weeks, but there’s indications he may.
Gary McAllister has said his recovery is running smoothly and an interesting Daily Mail article claimed the best treatment for Houlliers aorta tear is to carry on doing what he loves to do. Another positive sign is Houlliers in good spirits which shows the anxiety that may have plagued his years at Liverpool, is not there.
Houllier may have had a terrible first season but to those who say hes had enough time, I disagree as he needs a full season to mold his own team, although if next year we finish midtable I will be the first chanting get Houllier out.
If Houllier does not return, I wish him all the best for the future. All I know for certain is that a dramatic summer of change awaits us.
