Villa linked with Simon Poulson

SkySports.com are this afternoon reporting that Aston Villa are keeping tabs on Danish International Simon Poulson.

The 27 year old left sider, who can play either full back or in midfield is out on contract at the end of the season, and it is believed that Villa are favorites for his signature.

The article goes on to say that Villa scout Arthur Numan has watched the AZ Alkmaar player several times and has delivered positive reports back to the Villa management.

So, Who is he?

Well all I can tell you is what it says on his Wikipedia page. He used to play for HFK Sønderjylland and FC Midtjylland before joining his current club AZ Alkmaar in December 2007 for a fee believed to be in the region of £2,500,000.

Despite naturally being a winger, he wasn’t able to break the Alkmaar side in that position, so transformed into a full back where he plays now.

Poulson, has represented his country 11 times and I am unsure weather he is related to Christian Poulson. So if anyone knows anymore on him, and could tell us please be sure to.
